          BIOGRAPHY OF CHAIRUL TANJUNG


             Prof. drg. Chairul Tanjung, M.B.A. Chairul Tandjung, born in Jakarta, June 16, 1962; 57 years old. Chairul Tanjung is a businessman from Indonesia. He served as Coordinating Minister for the Economy replacing Hatta Rajasa from May 19, 2014 to October 20, 2014. His name is widely known as a successful businessman who led CT Corp.

 Chairul Tanjung was born in Jakarta to the couple Abdul Ghafar Tanjung and Halimah. His father was a journalist in the old order who published a small newspaper. While his mother is a housewife. Chairul's father is from Sibolga , North Sumatra , while his mother is from Cibadak , West Java . Chairul is in a family with six other siblings.


 Education

Chaerul Tanjung attended Van Lith Elementary School, Jakarta in 1975. Then continued his studies at Van Lith Middle School, Jakarta in 1978, then continued to a higher level at Boedi Oetomo 1 High School, Jakarta in 1981, then continued his studies at the Faculty Dentistry, University of Indonesia in 1987, then at Executive IPPM in 1993.

To meet the needs of college, Chairul Tanjung sells stencils, books, and photocopy services on campus. He also founded a figure who sold special medical equipment and laboratories in Senen, Central Jakarta, but the store went bankrupt.

Chairul Tanjung is an exemplary child with proof he managed to get an award as a National Exemplary Student in 1984-1985.

 Start Building a Business

After graduating from college, Chaerul Tanjung and three of his colleagues founded a company called PT Pariarti Shindutama in 1987. Initial capital of around Rp 150,000,000.00 borrowed from Exim Bank, they produce children's shoes for export.

Luck sided with him, because the company immediately received an order of 160 thousand pairs of shoes from Italy. However, due to differences in vision about business expansion, Chairu Tanjungl chose to leave and set up his own business.

Chaerul Tanjung named the company the Para Group. This conglomerate company (a company that has a variety of businesses and allows no connection between one another) has the Inti Holdindo as the father holding company, which leads several sub-holding companies, namely the Global Investindo (financial business), the Inti Investindo (the media and investment), and the Inti Propertindo (property).

His greatness in building networks and as an entrepreneur, makes the business he manages to grow. Chairul Tanjung repositioned itself to three core businesses, namely; finance, property and multimedia.

Chairul Tanjung has a number of companies in the financial sector, including Mega General Insurance, Mega Life Life Insurance, Multi Finance, Mega Bank, Mega Capital Indonesia, Mega Syariah Bank, and Mega Finance.

The company is in charge of Para Bandung Propertindo, Bali Propertindo, Batam Indah Investindo, and Mega Indah Propertindo. The Group owns Bandung Supermall. This 3-hectare mall costs Rp. 99 billion. The Group launched the Bandung Supermall as the Central Business District in 1999.
In the investment sector, in early 2010 the Group through its subsidiary, Trans Corp, bought the majority of Carefour Indonesia's shares, which was 40 percent. The MoU (memorandum of understanding) for the purchase of Carrefour shares was signed on March 12, 2010 in France.
In the field of broadcasting and multimedia, the Group has Trans TV, Trans7, Mahagagaya Perdana, Trans Fashion, Trans Lifestyle, and Trans Studio.

Chairul Tanjung inaugurated the change of the Group to CT Corp on December 1, 2011. CT Corp consists of three sub-holding companies: Mega Corp, Trans Corp, and CT Global Resources which include financial, media, retail, lifestyle, entertainment, and sourcing services. natural power.
